Getting into the UK
As a reminder, as of Jan 1st, visitors to the UK will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before traveling to the UK.
Given that it's valid for 2 years, we encourage you to complete this now so that you do not have to rush later on. The link is below.

Transportation to St Andrews
Getting from Edinburgh Airport to St Andrews
Service that picks you up at the airport and takes you right to where you’re staying in St Andrews. You can book a private shuttle or get a shared van! The more people you book with the better deal you get!
Taking the train
From Edinburgh airport, take the Airlink (Service 100) bus which departs from directly outside domestic arrivals. You can buy tickets at the Airlink kiosk, on board the bus, or in advance at the Lothian Buses website. Your journey will take around 30 minutes to Waverley Bridge in the city centre. Airlink buses run 24 hours a day.
On arriving at Waverley Bridge, proceed to Edinburgh Waverley train station and board a train to Dundee, Aberdeen or Dyce. This train will stop at Leuchars station. Train tickets can be purchased at the station’s ticket office or from a machine on the station concourse.
Alternatively, at the airport you can get a tram to Haymarket station. Trams run every 8 to 12 minutes. You can then board a train to Dundee, Aberdeen or Dyce, which will also stop at Leuchars station.
From Leuchars station, you can either take a bus to St Andrews bus station, or a taxi directly to your destination. The number 99 bus runs every 15 minutes between Leuchars and St Andrews bus station. Taxis are often waiting at Leuchars station during busy periods, but may not be there very early in the morning or late at night.
Getting around St Andrews
Once in town, getting from place to place is quite easy by foot–renting a car is not necessary.
